Our History

Free Pregnancy Help Across the Greater Cleveland, OH Region

Birthright of Cleveland is a chapter of Birthright International, founded by Louise Summerhill of Toronto, Ontario in 1968. We are an emergency pregnancy support organization available to help girls and women, no matter their age, marital status, or annual income. We are a non-profit, interdenominational organization that is able to keep our doors open through donations and with the help of volunteers.

All of our services are free, personal and confidential. We offer a non-judgmental environment where women of all ages can feel comfortable and get the emotional support they need during an unplanned pregnancy. We encourage women throughout the Greater Cleveland Area to seek our help for pregnancy help, free pregnancy testing, pregnancy counseling and so much more.

Birthright International’s Philosophy

The essence of Birthright is love. Birthright is unique and committed to offering free, non-judgmental help to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Birthright offers love, hope and support to each woman, to help her make a realistic plan for her future and the future of her unborn child.

Our Emergency Pregnancy Support Organization Can Help You

For nearly sixty years, we have kept our doors open to offer women the pregnancy help they need. Going through a pregnancy is often one of the most challenging times in a woman’s life, especially when there are concerns about how to afford the necessary medical treatment. Before any baby is born, appointment after appointment is needed to check in on the mother’s and baby’s health. Birthright of Cleveland has been doing everything in our power to keep expecting mothers in the Greater Cleveland Area safe. With free pregnancy testing and other free pregnancy services, we keep mothers safe during their pregnancy.

If you suspect you may be pregnant or you know for certain, please know that you are not alone in figuring out the details. We can help. We genuinely want to provide you with the support and guidance to get through this. When you are ready to speak to someone, we are ready to listen.
